Body Image does not mean how you others see you, but it is how you see yourself. It is the mental representation of your physical self. Body image is mostly related to self-esteem than how attractive you are.
According to recent survey, 60%-70% of women are not happy with their weight, and 50%-60% with their overall appearance. And, more over ultra-thin are considered as attractive and fashionable these days.
Here we explain you some steps towards creating a healthy body Image, for yourself and also for those around you.
- Healthy body does not mean a particular body shape and size. Be realistic about your body shape and size. Mostly, your body image depends on your genetic and environmental history. So, realize that you have to develop a positive body image and healthy mental attitude for you to be happy about yourself.
-
Don’t think that dieting alone helps you get a better body image. Healthy eating along with dieting only can help you get the body image you want.
-
Start listening to your body. Don’t neglect eating when you are hungry. Give your body the necessary food whenever it wants.
-
No food is ‘good’ or ‘bad’. It mostly depends on the nutrients your body needs.
-
Start exercising. And, don’t forget trying different exercises because it helps you treat exercising as entertainment than as a routine job. Keep in mind that losing weight is not the target of your exercise program; it is the overall health and well being that you aspire to have. This helps you get a better body image.
-
First, stop using words like “fat” and “ugly” to describe yourself to others. Start feeling good about yourself and your efforts to make yourself better.
-
Along with healthy eating and exercising, learn how to manage stress. Stress disturbs both you internal and external appearance.
We wish you fresh and healthy mind, body and soul !
