If you are into the job of using keyboard and your fingers excessively, then it’s the time for you to be a little cautious about it.
Typing Style
Here few typing styles are presented while using keyboard. This style includes upper arm, shoulder, lower arm, wrists and finger positions.
- The first and foremost position is that in which your arms are extended forward, the wrists are rested on the desk and the fingers reach up to the keys.
- The second position is when the upper arm reaches forward. Then it becomes very natural that you rest your wrists on something for taking stress off the shoulder area. As a result wrists get fixed in a certain position and fingers extend excessively for striking the keys. This is an awkward position that results in discomfort.
- Instead of using the above mentioned style, you need to keep your upper arm vertical, fore arms horizontal and the wrists floating in a straight position. This posture allows your hands as well as fingers to keep the rounded position along with the fingers pointing down the key.
Take Frequent Breaks
You should never give excessive stress on any of your body parts. Moreover, our body is not meant to be fixed at one position for a long period of time. Even our body parts cannot perform the same task repeatedly and without any rest. So, It is always suggested to take a break after a certain period of time.
Warming Up
Especially during winter season you need to do some warming up exercises those are exclusively meant for hands and fingers. You need to perform the exercise prior to start working with computer.
