Hair Loss is one-problem women of all age groups face. There are several products available which promise black, shiny and unbreakable hair.

At some point of life each one of us would have desperately resorted to these products in order to save ourselves from disgrace.

Often we address hair loss to pollution, stress and over- exposure to the sun. No doubt these factors are true but hair loss is also caused when there are some internal deficiencies in our body.

Here is a list of reasons that leads to hair fall.

Low iron levels: When there is lack of iron in the body, women tend to loose lot of hair. Women with iron deficiency need not necessarily suffer from anemia. One needs to consult a doctor before taking in iron supplements. Taking in more of Iron can cause more harm than any good.

Thyroid disorders: Both an overactive and an under active thyroid can lead to hair loss.
Low estrogen levels: Women also experience hair loss during and after menopause, when estrogen levels begin to drop. Other hormonal changes – include changes in oral contraceptive use, for example — can also trigger hair loss.

Post-pregnancy hormonal changes: Similarly, new moms may find that they’re shedding a lot of hair in the first one to six months after delivery. This loss of hair may continue till their estrogen levels return to normal.

Telogen effluvium: This is the general term used for sudden, temporary hair loss as a result of recent stress or surgery, which generally occurs around two months after the causative event or illness.

Medications: Many medications may lead to hair loss. If this is a concern, talk to your doctor about potential alternatives.

Smoking: Excess smoking is not good for your hair as well as your hair.

Dehydration: Lack of water intake is another reason for hair loss. When the body is not hydrated properly the hair becomes limp and dry.

If you are experiencing any of these problems consult your doctor and take the required steps.
