Ambitious athletes often ignore some typical signs of a sports injury in their fret to succeed. Not them alone, any beginner or an exercise freak can suffer grave injuries with or without realizing it, if the exercises are not performed in the right way, with the correct movements and due to overstraining.
It is important to pay heed to the signs of your body because they can be an indication of an underlying serious injury. Though some injuries grow gradually into you, there are some which are obvious and can be immediately attended to. No matter what, never let an uneasy feeling go unnoticed.

- Joint pains – Ankle, knee or elbow, which lasts for more than a day or two.
- Tenderness – If you feel the slightest of pain, uneasiness or tenderness on pressing a point on your body time and again and do not feel the same if you press any other point.
- Inflammation – Swelling is a definite indication of an underlying serious problem and should be immediately attended to by a doctor or physician. Inflammation is generally accompanied with symptoms like redness, warming surface, stiffness and pain.
- Restricted movements – If there are no obvious reasons, there could be other signs like difficulty in moving your joints from one range or point to further.
- Weakness – You could be feeling weak on one leg than the other. Stand on one leg at a time to check the feebleness of a joint, bone or muscles. Similarly, lift a weight with one hand and then with the other. Discover the uneasiness of an arm joint while doing so to check for fragility.
- Numb and tingling sensation – Never ignore this warning sign of a serious underlying injury and have a physician examine the joint for numbness and tingling sensations immediately.
