- Applying Heat: Effective ways of relieving pain is applying heat at the affected places that is the lower abdomen and the back. You can use heat pads, hot towel or a sauna bath.
- OTC Pain Reliever: Midol or Pamprin are effective medicines that can relieve you of pain. So does medicines containing aspirin or ibuprofen.

- Say No To Caffeine and Alcohol: Alcohol often disrupts the hormonal balance and caffeine creates more discomfort if you are in pain.
Remember normal cramps (which are known as primary dysmenorrheal) are quite natural but excessive pain (that occur due to secondary dysmenorrheal) needs medical advice. Have a happy period.
