What to wear while working out? Wear a clothing which is comfortable and gives you a full range of motion. The fitness clothing you wear should fit properly, and it should not be too loose or too tight.
Tips for Wearing the Right Fitness Clothing:
The right fitness clothing will help your body to breathe i.e. it allows the sweat to escape and keeps you comfortable throughout the workout. Here are a few tips for choosing the right fitness clothing:
- Comfort is primary: Due to the variety of fitness clothing available, you may choose a clothing which looks good but many not feel good. Avoid this mistake by choosing clothing in which you are most comfortable, which allows you to move freely. The fitness clothing you wear should not ride up, slide down, chafe, or reveal more than what you want
- Wear your fitness clothing based on your workout: You can vary your fitness clothing based on your workout. For example, for cardio exercises prefer loose fitting clothes which allow the sweat to escape. For strength training, prefer tank tops which help you to focus on your task and you can also see the muscles while working out
- Check out the weather: If you are working outside, wear the clothing based on the season or the weather. In summer or hot weather, prefers light-colored clothes as they keep your body cool. Do not forget to apply sunscreen during summer. In cooler temperatures, prefer dark colored clothes which can keep you warm
- Shoes: Wearing the right shoes is very important while working out. The footwear you wear should fit well and give you plenty of support i.e. arch support, lateral support (outer portion of the foot) and medial support (outer portion of the foot). While shopping, it is always good to ask the salesperson to suggest a shoe based on your foot shape
- Socks: The socks you wear should not be too thick or thin as such socks can cause blisters
Avoid clothing which is rubberized, or tight. Wash your clothing regularly to avoid body odor. Keep these points in mind and wear a clothing which can help you to have a proper workout
