Water aerobics is a safe and effective way to exercise and stay fit. It is an aerobic activity performed in swimming pool, in chest-to-shoulder deep water. Water aerobics is suitable and extremely beneficial to the elderly and pregnant women. In fact, several  studies have shown that water aerobics reduces pain in childbirth and is a safe form of exercise for pregnant women.

Why is Water Aerobics Effective?
Water aerobics is effective since it combines both cardiovascular and strengthening exercises. It strengthens your heart, lungs,  tones the muscles and has a low-impact. Hence, the chances of joint injuries, sore muscles etc  are low. During this activity, water supports the body weight, provides the resistance while exercising, and facilitates the body to have a wide range of motion.

How Water Aerobics is Performed?
Water aerobics is performed in a swimming pool with flotation equipment. Initially, you need to warm up to increase the blood circulation. Later  walking, jogging, jumping jacks, and slow dance movements etc  are carried out. And finally, stretching exercises and cool down exercises are done. The music tempo for  water aerobics is much softer comparatively.
