A vertical jump is the highest point a person can touch while jumping on a vertical plane, while only using the muscles. In various sports such as basketball, volleyball, a higher vertical jump ensures greater success. A good vertical jump also reflects the athletic ability and fitness. To enhance increase your jumping distance, a vertical jump training can help you jump high and experience greater success in sports.

A vertical jump training involves improving the muscular strength of the legs and explosive power. To improve the explosive power, a plyometrics program canĀ  be incorporated. A plyometric program will enable the person to workout at the highest intensity. However, while training for this, it should be ensured that the intensity should be increased gradually and proper periods of rest are included.

To improve the muscular power, squats, lunges along with strength training exercises are included. Squats can be performed using free weights such as dumbbells to increase the intensity of the exercise.

Tips for Vertical Jump Training:

Vertical jumping for even 1 hour for 5 days can greatly increase your jumping ability. Spreading the workouts throughout the week can also be a good idea. About 1 week of rest is needed after each training cycle.
