A squeeze ball or a stress ball is a malleable ball, which fits into your hand easily. Squeezing it and releasing it repetitively can release physical and emotional stress. This ball has also been used in physiotherapy.

How Does Squeeze Ball Work?
When you squeeze the ball, you would be exerting the hand muscles. By Releasing the ball, you would be relaxing the hand muscles. This will have a relieving effect on your body and can help in reducing the physical and emotional stress.

Using a squeeze ball also enables you to exercise your forearm and hand muscles. This will help in strengthening your hand grip and power. For people who have repetitive work such as typing, using this ball can be relieving.

Squeeze balls come in various shapes and sizes. Some come with bright colors,or with smileys to make them attractive. They are also used as corporate promotional products, where they are given away during events and meetings, with the company logo on it.

How to Use A Squeeze Ball?
Sit or stand in a comfortable position and hold the squeeze ball. Bend your elbow slightly and slightly lift your palm. Squeeze the ball and relax for a count of 10 times. Gradually you can increase the count to greater than 10. Doing this exercise two times daily is recommended. You can also use the squeeze ball while watching television or while reading.

Squeeze balls or stress balls have been recommended in patients suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, Bell’s Palsy, arthritis etc.

Squeeze balls are a good way to reduce physical and emotional stress. They also improve your hand grip. So , the next time you feel stressed out, reach for your squeeze ball and exercise it for relief.
